Abstract

Around the world, many individuals have the opportunity to attend a school, developing their education so that people can earn degrees with the hopes of using them to start a career or pursue the dream job that they always wanted. This opportunity includes all levels of education ranging from elementary school to college and everything in-between. The beauty of attending a school is that people can have an environment in which the only focus is to teach and learn various topics while also sharing this experience with the people around you. This ultimately makes everybody’s experience unique in some way. Sometimes this experience can be halted or postponed due to a variety of reasons including natural disasters, financial instability, health concerns/issues, and many “regular” obstacles that people deal with on a day-to-day basis. Something that I think many people would least expect or be prepared for would be a worldwide pandemic, specifically the recent events of COVID-19. This pandemic completely changed the world as we know it in the blink of an eye, bringing forth a massive number of life-changing events, decisions, and altered versions of our lives that we most did not expect. The COVID-19 pandemic gave us the illusion that the world was forced to simply freeze itself in a way until things could go back to normal. This completely limited the things that people were able to do. This would ultimately force a stressful change onto the way people would live their lives for the duration of the pandemic as well as the next few years following the pandemic. The crisis that ultimately struck individuals around the world would be the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic had on the way education would be handled during the time and most likely permanently after the pandemic had ended.
